This spring, I had the pleasure to decorate the entry of this beautiful Greek-revival building in Palisades, NY. Palisades is a hamlet next to our village on the Hudson River, about 15 miles north of Manhattan. Serving as a Methodist Church from 1859-1920s, and then a prominent auction house from 1940s-1980s, it is now the home of iO Arts Center founded by Goran Igev.
The installation I created here is made up of red mandevilla vines climbing up woody wisteria vines that were harvested from area woods. The wisteria vines arch dramatically overhead as visitors cross the threshold. At the base of the mandevillas are lilac-colored petunias and sweet potato vines from my community garden plot in Piermont. Also in front of the building are two large urns where the flower pattern is repeated.

Additionally, I have plants inside: a fiddle leaf fig with monstera adansoni, and a dracaena lemon-lime.

And then I started making signage for the place.

And flyers. Lots and lots of flyers.

It has been an honor to work on this elegant and historic structure and to be part of the arts center. Thank you Goran for the opportunity.
